Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday addressed a public meeting in Baran district of Rajasthan and said that the country can move forward only under the Congress rule.
Rahul Gandhi’s Baran rally comes a week after he addressed a huge rally in Udaipur on September 11.
Addressing a huge gathering of Congress supporters, Rahul stressed on the benefits of National Food Security Bill and shouted the slogan ‘poori roti khayenge, Congress party ko layenge’ (We will eat full roti and bring Congress back to power).
Hitting out at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the Gandhi scion said that there are two ideologies in politics these days, one of the Congress and the other of the Opposition parties.
“The difference is that the ruling party wants to build infrastructure as wants the poor to dream big, whereas the Opposition is interested only in building roads, railway lines, power projects etc,” Rahul asserted.
Highlighting the benefits of the Food Bill, Rahul said that the people who use the infrastructure build by the government must not go hungry.
“We respect your blood and tears that is why we have brought the Land Acquisition Bill,” the Amethi MP said, while raising the pitch for the upcoming Rajasthan Assembly Elections.
Accusing the Opposition of being anti-poor, Rahul drew attention to the MNREGA scheme initiated by the UPA. He said, “When the Congress party tries to give employment to the poor, the Opposition questions the source of the money to implement such a big scheme and we have successfully shown how to execute such pro-poor projects.
“For the Congress party 21st century means that the dreams of the poorest of people in the country come true,” the Gandhi scion said.
In an attempt to attract the Gen X, Rahul laid down the importance of the youth in building the nation. “This is a country of the youth who unfortunately are poor, but have hopes. Government has to help them and we will,” Rahul further stated.
