Training guns on the Bharatiya Janata Party-ruled Madhya Pradesh Government, Union Minister of State for Power (Independent charge) Jyotiraditya Scindia today alleged that Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and his cabinet colleagues are prospering but common public is suffering due to the corrupt deeds of the state government.
“Law and order situation has deteriorated in the state. Madhya Pradesh is not being ruled by the Shivraj Government but by the SS (Sudhir Sharma and Suryavanshi businessmen allegedly having links with the BJP) Government. Give money and get your work done has become the norm here,” said Mr Scindia while addressing ‘Satta Parivartan (changing regime)’ rally here.
Pointing out that the regime’s 11 ministers are under the scanner of the Economic Offences’ Wing, he said the ministers who should be lodged in jail are revelling in pleasure.
“Corruption is rampant everywhere. People living below poverty line are in distress. Maa Narmada has been sold to sand mafia in Shivraj’s rule,” said Mr Scindia, who is the chairman of Congress’ Madhya Pradesh Election Campaign Committee.
He announced that 50,000 BPL families in Betul would be provided single-bulb connection under the Rajiv Gandhi Electrification Scheme. Besides, 1,850 new transformers would be installed and 2,865 km electric lines would be laid.
On an emotional note, Mr Scindia said it was his father late Madhavrao Scindia’s 12th death anniversary today. However, he chose to come into the battlefield to throw the BJP out of power instead of being with the family for offering prayers.
