Civilised policing is need of the hour: Rajnath Singh

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh said on Monday that modern policing should transform into civilised policing. “Further you have to master the technology to tackle various forms of terrorism.

Keep in mind that hard work, honesty, integrity, positive attitude and justice will bring respect for you not only from political leaders but also from citizens of India,’ he said.

Addressing the IPS Probationers at the Passing Out Parade of the 69 RR (2017 Batch) of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (SVPNPA) here as a Chief guest he continued, “Our country is facing new security challenges day-by-day, with ISIS, Al-Qaeda and many other groups who are trying to play havoc and create terror on the land.

They are threatening to use atom bomb and also indulge in cyber attacks and circulating the counterfeit. ‘ISIS is now trying new form of terror, but thanks to our patriot citizens, it has failed to penetrate into the country. For countering terrorism and for modernisation of the Police Force, the Centre recently announced Rs 25, 000 crore package.

You also learn to use new technology, social media platform and mobile technology to arrest the threat.’ He cautioned the IPS Probationers, “Get ready for the future challenges from all forms of threats and wars from across the borders. We are taking all measures to keep agile our forces along J&K to North Eastern parts.”

Earlier, Mr Rajnath Singh reviewed the Parade and took general salute from the Parade, gave away cups and trophies to the winners. In all, 122 IPS Probationers including 21 women officers, five officers each from the Royal Bhutan Police Service, Nepal Police Service and 4 from the Maldives Police Service completed 45 weeks of rigorous training.
