Chouhan felicitates successful women

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that the full focus of the state government is on women empowerment. The Chief Minister was felicitating selected successful women who have established their distinct identity successfully in various fields at the Power to Empower programme organized by FICCI women’s organization at Abhay Prashal Indore, Mayor Indore Smt. Malini Goud, Secretary Union Ministry of Steel Dr. Smt. Aruna Sharma, MLAs Mahendra Hardia, Sudarshan Gupta and Rajesh Sonkar were also present.

Chouhan said that he has always been sensitive towards the upliftment and progress of women. Hence he first introduced Mukhya Mantri Kanyadan Vivah Yojana then Ladli Laxmi Yojana. He said that there are 28 lakh Ladli Laxmi girls in the state today.

When these girls turn 21, Rs 32 thousand crores will be deposited in their accounts. He told that the state government has decided to strengthen women self-help groups further.

Most rural women from these groups are moving ahead and are bringing a revolution in the direction of economic empowerment. Adopting a sensitive attitude towards women, the state government has imposed stringent laws against perpetrators of crimes against women.

The Chief Minister felicitated Monika Purohit for social service, Ragini Maksar for art and culture, Rashmi Ahuja for education, Sara Yadav and Kanika Tekriwal for Sports. He also inaugurated the first food ATM on the occasion. The Food ATM will provide food to the needy.
