Chronicle Reporter, Bhopal, The MP Congress Media Department in-charge Shobha Ojha, vice president Bhupendra Gupta and Abhay Dubey have submitted a memorandum to State Commission for Protection of Children’s Rights on Wednesday highlighting the violation children’s rights during chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s Jan Ashirwad Yatra. The memo pointed out that the High Court’s directions prohibit mobilisation of children for political functions in the state.
The memo said that the HC had already instructed that no children shall be brought for any political meeting. In the memo the Congress leaders claimed that children were brought to the CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s jan ashirwad yatra in Seoni as well as other places.
The memo alleged that the officials concerned closed the schools to ensure the presence of students in yatra programme. The erring officials forced the students to stand for long hours on the road side to welcome yatra in Maihar. The children were similarly mobilised for the yatra in Indore, Seoni, Satna, Chhindwara and other places.
