Higher Education Minister Umashankar Gupta has said that apart from proving themselves, children should also study to make Madhya Pradesh a pioneer state. He said that good education will brighten children’s future and their best performance will take the state to the top in the country.
Gupta was addressing Swagat Utsav programme under “School Chalen Ham Abhiyan” at Government Naveen Girls Higher Secondary School, Tulsi Nagar here today. On teachers and children’s demand, Gupta assured to get constructed a cultural hall in the school.
Gupta said that “School Chalen Ham Abhiyan” is being conducted for last many years as per wish of the Chief Minister. Its objective is to ensure that every child in the state is educated even if his parents are economically weak. For this, the state government is providing free books, uniforms etc. to students.
Gupta said that teachers should create a sense of belonging to the school among students. Teachers also imbibe moral values from teachers apart from education. He is an ideal for students. Teachers should see to it that no child drops out of school midway through education. For this, teachers should teach in pleasing way.
At the outset, Minister Gupta lighted a lamp before Maa Saraswati. Girls sang Saraswati Vandana and welcome song. Gupta greeted children by applying Tilak and distributed biscuit packets to them. He also distributed free books and cheques to students to purchase uniform.
Corporator Smt. Sandhya Jat, public representative Smt. Sachan and Principal Smt. Archana Sharma were present on the occasion.

Before the programme, Higher Education Minister Gupta visited Panchsheel Nagar and Rachna Nagar and gave a patient hearing to people’s problems.
