Chronicle Reporter, Bhopal, In Jawahar Bal Bhavan, on Thursday, a workshop for making kites was organized in the handicrafts division on occasion of Makar Sankranti.
The subject specialist Ajay Yadav told the children that there is a tradition to fly a kite on Makar Sankranti and that the kite symbolizes happiness, joy, freedom and all the auspicious works begin from the day of Sankranti and that auspicious works like a kite are clean and high.
So the kite is flown. Describing the recognition of kite, the children were trained to make Kite from different colors kite paper. Children made small, big and colorful kites with their hands.
About 20 children attended the workshop. Dr. Umashankar Nagayach, the director of Jawahar Bal Bhavan told that Makar Sankranti is a tradition of flying kites, today the kites are available at very high prices in the market.Through this workshop, children were trained to easily make kites at home.
