Agencies, Nagpur Former BJP national president Nitin Gadkari today said the charges levelled against him was a “conspiracy by the UPA government” and hinted to find out the Income-Tax (IT) officials involved in raids on his firms.
He was speaking to reporters at the airport on his arrival here from New Delhi. Mr Gadkari further said he knew “all the conspirators and warned them that they would not be able to hide themselves from BJP.” He reiterated that it was a political conspiracy to tarnish his image by putting forward issues with which he had nothing to do and said he would fight to clear his name.
He expressed hope that he would come clean out of it. He alleged that the ruling Congress party misused the IT department to finish its rival, as it had done with the CBI. Mr Gadkari further said “the Congress was on the verge of losing its power soon and reminded IT department to be aware of this impending reality.” He added that once the Congress would be out of power, none would come forward to protect the IT.
