Tomar could be new president
If BJP state president Nandkumar Singh Chauhan is removed, then Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar could once again be appointed in his place. This is because the team of Shiraj Singh Chouhan and Tomar have registered many election wins.
Speculations are rife about changes in the state BJP. Inside sources have said that state in-charge and state president and other key state-level functionaries could change after by-polls. Sources also revealed that central leadership has sought report from state organization general secretary Suhas Bhagat.
After defeat in Chitrakoot by-poll, the BJP had argued that it was the stronghold of Congress. But the central leadership felt that defeat by margin of over 14,000 votes pointed towards anti-incumbency wave because earlier in Ater the Congress candidate had won by margin of only few hundred votes despite leading by a margin of 10,000 voted initially.
The central leadership can repose faith in state leadership if BJP wins in Kolaras and Mungawali by-polls. If BJP loses, the central leadership will not accept the argument that these were the traditional seats of Congress and in such a scenario Nandu Bhaiya could be removed.
Party sources said removal of state in-charge and vice president Vinay Sahastrabuddhe is almost certain and there are discussions to make Om Prakash Mathur the state in-charge in his place.
