Ceasefire violations must stop to move ahead; Jaitley

Defence minister Arun Jaitley today said ceasefire violations on the borders must stop to move ahead.

It is important that ceasefire violations must top, Mr Jaitley told reporters here this afternoon.

Stop of violations on the border was itself a big Confidence Building Measure (CBS), the defence minister said when asked that opposition was now targeting the government on violations by Pakistani army.

He said this must stop before any country move ahead, indirectly referring to resumption of high level talks with Pakistan. However, he said “Our troops are capable to foil any infiltration attempts and also give proper reply to any ceasefire violation.”

He said he is going back to New Delhi after two day tour to valley with great satisfaction but he was cautious too. When asked about the threat of Alqaida in the region, Mr Jaitley said “India is capable of handling all security concerns.”
