Case of attempt to murder should be lodged against those who drink and drive: Ex-CJI

Inauguration ceremony of 62nd Annual National Conference of Indian Orthopaedics Association ?IOACON-17 was held at Brilliant Convention Centre on Thursday.Ramesh Chandra Lahoti, former chief justice of India (CJI)while addressing said that a case of attempt to murder should be lodged against a person found driving drunk.

Dr. Lahoti also said that the person driving while drunk, not only puts his life in danger but is also a danger to lives of others as well. So, a case of attempt to murder should be lodged against those who drink and drive.?

He later congratulated the Indian Orthopaedic Association for bringing so many experts under one roof to brainstorm ailments that have been giving a hard time to millions of people across the world.

The third day of the conference stressed on the discussions on deformity correction which was addressed by Dr. KT Dholakiya. He also discussed about the Ilizarov method of treatment and also trained the doctors in relevant aspects.

Dr Dholakiya while mentioning the reasons of deformities, said, reasons may be genetic, infection, injury or by inappropriate treatment.

Dr Sanjay Keshkar from Kolkata, Dr Jayant Sen from Jaipur, Dr Milind M Choudhary from Akola, Dr Sudhir Wadiyar, Dr Ram Chadda and Dr Mangal Parihar from Mumbai, Dr Shah Alam, Dr Arvind Jaiswal, Dr Anil Jain and Dr Mathew Varghese from New Delhi were the key note speakers of the programme.

Meanwhile, the IOA felicitated Dr. NS Laad from Mumbai with Life time Achievement Award. Honorary Fellow Award were conferred on Dr. DK Taneja, Dr. Anand Nanu, Dr. Ondor and Dr. Mahaptra at the event.
