Internal Quality Assurance Cell of the Bhopal School of Social Sciences, Bhopal, is organising a three- day CBT for its staff from 24-26 May 2018. The key note speakers for the first day of the event are Prof. Krishna Kumar and Dr. Anup Upadhyay, IIFM,Bhopal. The event is scheduled keeping focus on teaching and research as the chief criteria for faculty members in Higher education.
Dr. Anup abridged the audience about the methods to be adopted while writing a research paper and how to make it quality oriented and of relevance to modern society.
In his discursive session , he elaborated the concept of quantitative research and the methodology to be adopted for the same.Dr. Upadhayay spoke at length about the sequencing of paragraphs which would provide unity and coherence to the thought or idea.
Prof. Krishna Kumar, in his presentation stressed on the need to make the research work based on a novel theme which would not only justify but also substantiate the activity of research.
In the second session Mr. Pradeep Ghosh discussed on the topic of “Flipped And Digital Learning” that how these innovative stategies are emerging fast as substitutes to classroom teaching. Also, these methods are pratically feasible and more teacher/ student friendly.
The second day sessions wasconducted by Dr. Nithila Devakarunyam, Principal, St. Christopher College, Chennai. She would be throwing light on the topic “ How to develop pragramme- objectives and outcome”. She talked in detail about the method in which knowledge has to be communicated to the students.
She emphasized the fact that transfer of knowledge from the teacher to the taught has to be understood and approached from three perspectives- coginitive domain, affective domain and psycho motor domain.
In her activity activity based session she made the faclty members in framing thier objective to tecahing a particular topic giving due importance to these three domains.
In her post lunch session, she equipped the members with contemporary teaching methods and ways to make teaching interesting and innovative. She reiterated the fact that teaching should be effective in order to make an impact.
Ms. Puja Ashdhir spoke on “ Optimising the potentialities to become better facilitators”.
On the third and final day of the programme, Mr. Anshul from Art of Living, will elaborate on “Stress Free Teaching”. Mr. Deepak Teheriya will talk on work- life balance and also the ethics which need to be practised in Higher education.
The sessions will prove beneficial for the faculty members and the students are going to be benefitted in the long run. The quality of work, work culture and work ethics will improve catering to a holistic develoment.
