Chronicle Reporter, Bhopal, BMC commissioner B Vijay Datta reviewed cleanliness arrangements at different places in the city on Tuesday and gave necessary instructions to the officials.
The commissioner visited various localities including New Market, Kamla Park, Raja Bhoj Setu, Dr Shankar Dayal Sharma Park, Itwara, Mangalwara, Chowk Bazar and others. Datta asked officials to make better sanitation arrangements in New Market and directd that one day salary of the negligent supervisor be detected.
Datta asked officials to get the grass pruned in Kamla Park. He said the corridor of Savarkar Setu be washed and cleaned and proper cleaning of park near Dr Shankar Dayal Sharma statue be ensured.
The BMC commissioner also visited the VIP Road and the Upper Lake. He inspected the sanitation arrangements at Chowk Bazar, Itwara, Mangalwara, Azad Market and had a look at the Sulabh lavatory for the third gender. He inspected the garbage transfer stations at DIG Bungalow and Arif Nagar.
Datta also inspected the Bhanpur dumping grounds and reviewed the process of scientific disposal of garbage. He visited the plastic collection centre and material recovery facility at Bhanpur and obtained information about the plastic waste management process. He said the process to make various plastic products from plastic waste should be speeded up.
Datta said awareness campaigns against the use of prohibited polythene should be conducted. He had a look at the cloth bags being distributed in markets and educational institutions under public awareness drives.
