Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Tuesday expressed confidence that the BJP will retain power in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh.
Replying to a question during a press conference here, Mr Chouhan who is here to campaign for the party candidates for the Telangana Assembly Election to be held on December 7, said “There is no anti-incumbency in Madhya Pradesh…. only there is pro-incumbency” and added that the BJP which is moving forward with Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas and inclusive growth would win majority seats and form the government again in Madhya Pradesh..
Mr Chouhan said that the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government led by caretaker Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao came to power in the name of “Neellu, Nidhulu and Niyamakalu (Water, Funds and Jobs) but he had failed to provide them. The state government was confined only to KCR family and not for the people, he alleged.
Elaborating failures of the TRS government, Mr Chouhan said that the state government had taken up all the irrigation projects which were launched by the then Congress Government. The cost of the projects were also increased in the name of re-designing but yet to be completed, he added.
The state government also failed to fill the vacant posts in the government departments even though there are several vacancies. When the new state was formed, it was a Revenue surplus state, but now the state has turned into Revenue deficit, he pointed out.
Finding fault with the TRS government for not implementing several Central schemes in the state including Pradhan Mantri Awaz Yojana (PMAY), Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, Mr Chouhan said that the state government assured to construct 2 lakh double bed-room houses for the poor but only 16,000 houses were constructed during the last four and- half years. However, in Madhya Pradesh, the state government had constructed about 15 lakh and 5 lakh houses in rural and urban areas respectively under PMAY within one-and-half years, he said.
Even though there was a verdict from the Supreme Court that the reservations should not exceed 50 per cent, the TRS government had assured 12 per cent reservation for Muslims and cheated them, Mr Chouhan remarked..
Stating that there is no credibility for People’s Front consisting of Congress, Telugu Desam Party (TDP), Telangana Jana Samiti (TJS) and CPI because TDP had opposed separate statehood of Telangana, Mr Chouhan urged people to give a chance to BJP ( for a change) which is in the fray with the slogan of “Maarpu Kosam Eesaari BJP.
