Delay caused as govt did not give permission
Chronicle Reporter, Bhopal, Unable to get permission from the state government to set up a solar plant on Jamburi ground, BHEL is not able to take a decision regarding where to set up the solar plant.
In March 2016, a 10 MW solar plant was to be installed at Jamburi ground, but the state government stopped the project by referring to the meetings of Chief Minister and Prime Minister. Now BHEL management will send a fresh proposal to the BHEL headquarters in Delhi to set up a new solar plant.
BHEL management says that after the state government red flagged the project, it is difficult to set up a solar plant. Proposal will be forwarded for setting up new solar plant at a new site. The capacity of the solar plant may be reduced according to the site, but nothing is yet decided.
BHEL INTUC has said BHEL management should set up a 10 MW Solar Plant on Jamburi ground. It said lesser capacity solar plant should not be set up at a different site. BHEL management is in a state of indecision about the plant for two years. If the land of Jamburi ground belongs to BHEL then why solar plant is not being installed, INTUC asked.
Officials will take final decision
In the proposal, besides the Jamburi ground, the possible sites where the plant can be set up include Piplani, Barkheda and Govindpura in Bhel Township. But BHEL management has not been able to decide where to put the solar plant in place. Now, officials from BHEL corporate office will come and take a final call on the site of solar plant.
Solar Plant’s potential may be less
If 50 acres is not available for 10 MW, then management can reduce the capacity of the solar plant. Now BHEL management has not decided that if solar power capacity is low then how many MW of solar power will be made. In such a situation, there is confusion about the establishment of a solar plant.
