Yasin Bhatkal, the Indian Mujahideen mastermind and a key suspect in several terror blasts since 2006, was today arrested along with an accomplice from Raxaul in Bihar along the Indo-Nepal international border.
Bhatkal carries a reward of Rs ten lakh on his head. National Investigating Agency(NIA) sources, confirming the arrest said, Bhatkal was caught along with an accomplice Akhtar alias Tarbez. The arrests were made following a raid conducted on a tip off.
The duo was kept at the office of the Superintendent of Police in East Champaran district after their arrest in a joint operation of central intelligence agencies and Bihar police.
Both are in the custody of Bihar police and likely to be produced before the court during the day.
The security personnel were likely to pray before the court for their transit remand to take them to Delhi.
