Chronicle Reporter, Bhopal, The Bhopalites enjoyed a delightful musical and dance evening on Sunday. At Madhya Pradesh State Tribal Museum, Odissi dance and violin recital was held marking the Uttaradhikar series.
The audience enjoyed the show wholeheartedly. The artists managed to grab the interest of the audience as they watched the dance and music presentation rapturously.
The audience loved the Odyssey dance by Sujata Mahapatra and her team. The dancers started with Mangalacharan Vishnu Vandana, in which they presented the many avatars of Vishnu. The music for this performance was given by Bijay Kumar Jhen.
Later dancer Pallavi and fellow artistes expressed inner purity and real happiness with gestures of their hands and dance. After Pallavi, the artistes presented a dance sequence on Ardhanarishwar, which is a story of Lord Shiva and Parvati, which touched an emotional chord with the audience.
In Durga Stuti, the dancers gave a powerful performance and impressed the audience with their act which not only glorified the goddess, but also displayed her power and courage. The last performance was Mokshaya, which explained the importance of inner strength and independence.
Earlier the programme began with An Odissi dance performance by Sujata Mahapatra and her team won many rounds of applause at MP Tribal Museum’s weekly programme Uttaradhikar.
The evening started with a violin performance by Kiran Kumar Bamnere with his disciples. who started with Raga Bhupali; Mangilal Malviya accompanied the team on the tabla.
