Threatening of Assembly enclosure and indefinite hunger strike
Chronicle Reporter, Bhopal, In the election year, the Government has failed to end the teachers’ displeasure. Angry teachers have once again opened a front against the decision taken in a cabinet meeting held on 29th May 2018 in relation to the merge of teacher’s cadre in the education department.
Teachers from all over the state have again gathered in the state capital on Sunday. Six unions of teachers have united against the merge of teacher’s cadre. Accusing the government on breaking its promise, these associations have announced the enclosure of the Assembly and indefinite hunger strike on Monday.
These six organizations include State Teacher Union, Government Teacher Association, Azad Teacher Union, Teacher’s Congress, Contract Teachers Association and Guruji Union.
The important meeting of the provincial functioning of the State Teacher’s Union was concluded in Neelam Park under the chairmanship of Regional Chairperson Jagdish Yadav in which the strategy of movement was planned.
The teachers who are allegedly annoyed with the Madhya Pradesh government for breaking promise have announced the enclosure of assembly and hunger strike from Monday onwards.
State Teacher Union President Jagdish Yadav said that in the meeting of the Council of Ministers the concept of ‘One Department One Cadre’ was abbreviated which cannot be amended in this manner and it is against the announcement made by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan too.
This results a huge resentment in the teachers of the entire state. According to the abbreviation, the cadre is not being merged in the education department but new designation is being given to change the cadre After coming into this cadre, the teacher’s service of 20 years will be zero. New cadre is being implemented from 1st July 2018.
The teacher also opposed e-attendance. The regional president Yadav has announced that if their demands are not resolved by the government, then on 24th June, the teachers of the state will gather around Bhopal and enclosed the assembly. If there is no positive discussion then the hunger strike will start from 25th June.
Millions of teachers across the state have gathered in Shahjahani Park. The teachers’ federation and the struggle committee have also supported this movement.
Their demands are the teachers should be merged in education department, assist teachers, teachers and lecturers, get the benefits of the seventh pay scale from January 2016, considering the continuity of service, giving benefits like old pension, insurance and gratuity benefits.
