Anna Hazare not to campaign for Mamta

In a volte-face, noted social activist Anna Hazare today said that he would not campaign for West Bengal Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee or her party Trinamool Congress during the coming Lok Sabha elections. The anti-corruption crusader, who returned from Delhi this evening, made the remarks while talking to the electronic media at Pune Airport.
“I had earlier decided to support Mamta for her thinking ideology, but there are people around her who are misusing my identity for their political gains,” he stated.

“Mamta had responded that she would immplement all 17 of my points, which include the right to reject, farmers’ cause and many others, due to which I had decided to campaign for her by in touring all major cities of the country, but I have found the people around her are misleading the citizens,” he said.

The 75-year-old Gandhian said that he had requested Mamta to stop using his photograhs and visuals while campaining for the election.
