Ahmedabad, BJP president and party candidate for Gandhinagar Lok sabha seat, Amit Shah on Saturday started his day-long poll campaign to cover three of total seven assembly segments in his constituency in Ahmedabad, with two phased road shows and meeting with voters.
Mr Shah started the campaign with a grand road show on the occasion of BJP’s foundation day in two phases would cover several areas of Ahmedabad which falls under Gandhinagar LS constituency. He will also held meeting with voters late in the evening.
The two phased road show started from Vejalpur area in his erstwhile constituency Sarkhej crossed through Vanzar, Sarkhej gam, Roja, Shrinandnagar, Jivraj park and would also cross through Devash flat, Swaminarayan temple, Shyamal Bridge, 100 ft road, Haran circle, Shraddha school crossing, Jodhpur crossing, Mansi circle, Vastrapur Shahid chowk and culminate at Haveli Mandir in the after noon.
State president of BJP Jeetu Vaghani and local MLAs were also present in the open vehicle.Party workers also showered flower petals to welcome him.
The road show would resumed in the second phase at 1730 hrs in the evening from Ranip and cross through Nirnaynagar underpass, Chandlodia, Umiyahall, Vandemataram road, kankunagar, Durga school, Sardar Chowk, Navnirman school, Ranip Bus stand, Sabarmati power house, Ramnagar, Rambaug road, Nilkanth Mahadev, Hariom Society to end at Devbhoomi road in the late evening.
The road shows would cover three assembly segments Vejalpur, Sabarmati and Ghatlodia.All the three are currently represented by BJP. Of the total seven assembly segments in Gandhinagar LS seat five are with BJP and remaining two Kalol and Gandhinagar-North were under the Congress.
The BJP president would hold meeting with the residents of various societies in Bopal and do direct communication with them, after the road shows.
Mr Shah after a grand rally of NDA and road show on March 30 filed his nomination for the LS seat which was earlier represented by L K Advani and once by Late A B Vajpayee.Polling on Gandhinagar seat along with remaining 25 seats in Gujarat would be held simultaneously on April 23.
Notably, Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman would also participate in two BJP campaign events in Vadodara and Anand.
Prime Minister Narendara Modi would do two election rallies in Junagadh and Songadh on April 10.Apart from Mr Modi, Mr Shah and Ms Sitharaman the list of star campaigners of BJP in Gujarat.
The list of star campaigners also includes union ministers Rajnath Singh, Arun Jaitley, Sushma Swaraj, Nitin Gadkari, Uma Bharati, Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis, UP CM Yogi Adityanath, former MP CM Shivraj Chauhan, former Rajasthan CM Vasundhara Raje Scindia, Actress turned BJP MP Hema Malini and Vivek Oberoi.
