Karimnagar, Bharatiya Janata Party President Amit Shah has launched a frontal attack on Telangana Rashtra Samiti supremo and caretaker Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao for unkept poll promises.
Addressing a well-attended public meeting christened “Samarabheri’ at Karimnagar on Wednesday evening, he said that none of the 150 poll promises made by the TRS was fulfilled.He said that Mr Rao had promised to make a Scheduled Caste member as the chief minister of the state during the 2014 polls but failed to do so.
Stating that the TRS government had failed on all fronts, he asked what did the state government do when more than 450 farmers committed suicides, while the Modi government had embarked on several schemes to help the farmers.
Dismissing Mr Rao’s charge that the Modi government was ignoring Telangana, Mr Shah said that Rs 1.25 crores had been granted during the last four years for various schemes in the state.
He said that KCR had opted for early polls afraid of Modi’ growing popularity and casting additional burden on the people of the state.
Mr.Shah said that Mr.Rao’s aspiration was to make either his son or daughter as the chief minister of the state which the people should thwart.
Listing out the central assistance to various sectors, Mr.Shah for the development of roads in the state, Rs.40,000 crores had been provided to the state adding that the state government utilise the central funds.
He said the state government had failed to keep its promise to give three acres of land to SCs and two-bed room houses to the poor.
Taking a dig at the Congress, which was also dreaming to come back to power,he said that Congress did not care to create a suitable memorial to one of its prominent leader and former Prime Minister P.V.Narasimha Rao.
