Kolkata, BJP president Amit Shah on Saturday sought the clarification from the Congress and the TMC as to clear their stand on the infiltrators, sreiterating that the NRC exercise would stay to detect the foreign nationals and drive them out peacefully.
Addressing the Yuva Shaviman Samavesh at Mayo Road in the city, organised by party’s youth wing, Mr Shah said the BJP attached topmost priority to secure India’s stability and integrity before vote politics and accused both Rahul Gandhi-led Congress and Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress for the u-turn on infiltrators.
” We will make sure that the process of NRC in Assam is carried out peacefully. Neither could Mamata Banerjee nor Rahul Gandhi stop us from implementing the exercise, ” stated Mr Shah.
He asked both Congress and TMC to clear their stand on refugees from Afghanistan, Pakistan and Bangladesh and said an amendment Bill of Citizenship of 2016 would be tabled in Parliament and Congress and TMC must clear their stand on the issue.
He accused the TMC of spreading canard on the issue of NRC, saying Ms Banerjee had disrupted session in Parliament in 2005 on infiltration issue when the Left Front was in the saddle in West Bengal and now it was a volte face on her part on this issue.
