Amit Shah anointed as BJP president

NEW BJP PRESIDENT AMIT SHAHAgencies, New Delhi
The 50-year-old Amit Shah, one of the  most trusted lieutenants, of Prime Minister Narendra Modi was  anointed as Bharatiya Janta Party’s(BJP) president today when  party president Rajnath Singh stepped down from the coveted slot  to pave way for Mr Shah’s coronation.  ‘’I am confident that Mr Shah with his solid organisational management skills will further increase the growing stature of the party,’’ Mr Singh, the Union Home Minister, said after announcing Shah’s name as the new president. Mr Shah, who had played a pivotal role in harvesting the  rich dividends of over 70 out of 80 Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh for the party, was in the reckoning for the slot ever since the BJP rode to the power and mere formalities of his appointment were left.  ‘’It was unanimously decided in the party’s parliamentary board meeting that Amit Shah will be the next President of the BJP.’’
