Madhya Pradesh has prime play in celebrating 127th birth anniversary of Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar. He was born in Mhow military cantonment where his father was in military service. This year it became more significant with presence of President Ramnath Kovind, who became first President to visit the birth place and his memorial at the Mhow.
Addressing the anniversary function Mr Kovind said as President he got the opportunity to protect the constitution which was drafted by the Baba Sahab as the chairman of the Constitution drafting committee.
He always adopted non-violent mean to fight for to rights scheduled caste and tribes. He said society needs harmony and not conflicts. The Governor Mrs Anandi Ben and Chief Minister Mr Shivraj Singh were present in Mhow on this occasion.
Through out Madhya Pradesh the anniversary of Baba Saheb was observed with fond remembrance of him. This has made complete our freedom by uplifting the 60 per cent of the population of India comprising Dalit and Tribal.
It is also occasion to realize tarnishing the status of the great personalities is a crime against the nation. The society should take pledge that the fitting tributes to Baba Saheb is to eliminate slur of caste system from our nation.
The discriminations on caste basis is the biggest obstacle in having unified society. Baba Saheb has drafted the task of creating unified civil code in Directive principles of the Constitution.
