Action against defaulter voluntary organisations under AIDS control in state

Such voluntary organisations declared defaulters under the schemes of AIDS Control Organisation will be prosecuted. According to AIDS Control Committee Project Director Dr. M. Geeta, the National AIDS Control Organisation, New Delhi has taken serious objection to the voluntary organisations working in the field of AIDS control, which have obtained grant but have neither submitted utilisation report nor returned remaining funds. The Madhya Pradesh State AIDS Control Committee is going to take action against 20 voluntary organisations declared as defaulters in the state.

Dr. Geeta informed that the National AIDS Control Organisation, New Delhi is organising target-oriented intervention projects during the financial year 2011-12. This was the third phase of the project. During this phase, some activities were stopped by the National AIDS Control Organisation. There are some voluntary organisations which are no more functioning under target-oriented intervention projects with Madhya Pradesh State AIDS Control Committee.

These organisations were directed to sum up their accounts and return remaining amount of the fund released to them as grant to the committee. But despite continuous correspondence, some voluntary organisations are not returning amount of grant. Five such voluntary organisations are based in Bhopal, four in Jabalpur, three in Gwalior and one each in Ujjain, Indore, Betul, Hoshangabad, Datia, Sheopur and Shajapur.

Following are the names of defaulter organisations in Madhya Pradesh: – Medical Counselling Centre, Bhopal, Amulya Kranti Social Work Organisation, Bhopal, Indian Institute of Development Management, Bhopal, Gandhi Bhavan Trust, Bhopal, Dr. Ambedkar Institute, Bhopal, Nari Ekta Evam Paryawaran Sudhar Samiti, Jabalpur, Red Swastika Society, Jabalpur, Vaishali Voluntary Organisation, Jabalpur, People’s General Association, Jabalpur, Nations Care and Welfare Society, Gwalior, Centre for Integrated Development, Gwalior, Saumitra Educational and Welfare Society, Gwalior, Dronacharya Education Committee, Ujjain, MPVHAI, Indore, Gram Bharti Mahila Mandal, Betul, Sahas Voluntary Society, Sheopur, Hope Centre for Women and Children, Hoshangabad, Agar Sewa Bharti, Shajapur and Hitaishi Samaj Sewa Sanstha, Datia.
