Congress General Secretary and former Madhya Pradesh chief minister Digvijay Singh today described Aam Admi Party as a new phenomenon that has provided good signal for the country’s democracy.
“A civil society activist showed the courage to enter politics at a time when politics and political leaders had become infamous. His success is the evidence of strengthening of Indian democracy,” Mr Singh said while replying to queries by media here.
However, he said his prediction made two years earlier that AAP founder Arvind Kejriwal nurtured political ambitions and was misusing anti-graft crusader Anna Hazare has come true.
“The problem is that my comment was not taken seriously.
Now, even Mr Hazare has realised that he was being misused.
Funds were collected in his name. So, he disassocated with Mr Kejriwal,” Mr Singh said.
