9.2 million Xiaomi smart phones sold in Qtr 3: Reddy

Xiaomi , a leading smartphone brand, has sold over 9.2 million smart phones in third quarter of this year and became number one online selling brand in the country by grabbing a market share of 23.5 per cent, stated by Mr Raghu Reddy, Head of Online Sales, Xiaomi India on Friday.

Speaking to media persons at the launch of company’s first affordable smart phone in three variants for the masses starting at a price of Rs 4,999 here, Mr Reddy said,” As per IDC’s Quarterly Smartphone Tracker report for third quarter of this year, company became No 1 Smartphone vendor in the country by shipping over 9.2 million units to its customers.”

He also added that going by the commitment of ‘Make in India’ brand Xiaomi has recently set up its manufacturing facility, the third in the country, for Power Bank products in Greater Noida(UP) in collaboration with Hi Pad which has distinction of producing seven units in a minute.

The other two facilities are situated in Sri city(Andhra Pradesh) and are entirely dedicated to Smartphones where one phone come out a minute.
