So far, 64 lakh voters of 4 crore 64 lakh voters in Madhya Pradesh have taken oath that they will certainly exercise their franchise to cast vote in every circumstances under the valuable constitutional right. This was informed at a meeting of the committee constituted to implement SVEEP plan regarding campaign to educate voters here today. Additional Chief Electoral Officer V.L. Kantarao was present on the occasion.
It was informed at the meeting that there are 4 crore 64 lakh 61 thousand 691 voters in Madhya Pradesh. Of these, the voters who have filed affidavits have has taken responsibility to inspire and motivate their near and dear ones to cast votes in national interest and choose the best public representative who come true to the aspirations and people of the country and state.
They have also taken oath that they will discharge their responsibility to cast their votes in the national interest without any fear, greed, consideration of caste, religion and discrimination. These affidavits have been filled up by parents through their wards studying in schools, colleges and hostels.
V.L. Kanta Rao directed ensure maximum participation of voters in the polling to be held on November 25 and better conduct of publicity activities to motivate the electorate. He asked Public Relations Department to chalk out and implement a media plan for voters’ awareness. Kanta Rao also directed to chalk out a strategy for making films to motivate voters, radio jingles, hoardings, advertisements etc. under media plan.
He directed all SVEEP plan partners to create awareness and motivate voters through slogans, stickers, posters, banners etc.
Kanta Rao said that malls should also be used to ensure that voting percentage is increased and number and maximum people participate in electoral process this election. He directed Urban Administration Department to put up hoardings at Navratri tableaux to motivate voters. He directed Higher Education Department to appoint Campus Ambassadors in all 350 government colleges in the state. He asked Nehru Youth Centre to seek information about activities of Youth Club and Mahila Mandal and accelerate pace of these activities.
He directed that instructions should be given to motivators appointed for voters’ awareness under Sakshar Bharat Yojana of Rajya Shiksha Kendra and report to this effect should be submitted positively by October 15. he asked officers of Doordarshan to telecast voters awareness messages regularly and All India Radio to increase its activities in districts. Kanta Rao said that Regional Transport Officers should use vehicles like auto-rickshaws to voter awareness campaign activities.
On the occasion, Culture Department informed that publicity activities are being undertaken in all 12 colleges under it. Food and Drug Administration Department has pasted stickers etc. at medical stores. Lead Bank (Central Bank) Informed that stickers, posters, banners etc. motivating voters have been put up in all banks.
Higher Education Department informed that affidavits have been filled up through about 2.50 lakh students of government colleges. The department, is also holding street plays and other cultural activities.
Additional Director Public Relations Lajpat Ahuja, State SVEEP Officer S.S. Baghel and other officers attended the meeting.
