Problems before nuclear deal

Notwithstanding the grumblings of India highlighted also in its media (about the resistance of New Zealand, Ireland, Australia and in US media NYT etc. to Indo-US nuclear deal on the basis of apprehension that it will be a major blow to non-proliferation) it is time that India stop playing unethical game of misappropriating the nuclear advantages (civil & military) in its favour while denying the same to other countries of the world.

The following should be kept in mind while discussing the fate of the Indo-US nuclear deal:-

(1)- In the fast globalizing contemporary world (where science is breaking new avenues for the betterment & happiness of the mankind including in genetic field where research on stem cell etc is opening the possibility in medical field of replacing diseased organs thus renewing the human body) the making and use of nuclear weapons meant for mass destruction of human beings (especially of civilians including elders, women and children whose professional duty, unlike of martial element, is not to kill or get killed in the process) is a blot on the humane and civilized credentials of those countries who possess and those who are trying to possess nuclear weapons of mass destruction (WMDs).

(2)- Economical globalization is impossible without political globalization.

(3)- UN was an attempt in 1945 by countries who won World War II, to bring about absolute political globalization. But UN over the period has allowed itself to become defunct and irrelevant (mainly due to its record on human rights which are dismal to say the least principally due to lame excuse taken by UN of optional protocol for not interfering even in cases of flagrant violations of human rights by member States) hence it needs to be dismantled, sooner the better.

(4)- Absolute political globalization is presently impractical and impossible hence gradual (part by part) political globalization is the need of the hour.

(5)- Part political globalization means the use of military power for the realization of some political objective (such as nuclear disarmament, selective human rights etc.) sanctioned and institutionalized by member countries of such global body.

(6)- Apart from stopping the increase in the stock of green house emissions, the civilian use of nuclear energy is necessary for the entire mankind also in view of the alarmingly dwindling source of petroleum energy.

(7)- It is absurd and unethical on the part of so called nuclear weapons States to expect rest of the world to refrain from acquiring such nuclear WMDs.

(8)- This discriminatory and impractical policy of non - proliferation regime has not only brought nuclear weapons to India and Pakistan but is also alluring Iran , North Korea etc to join the nuclear club.

(9)- Apart from the said discriminatory policy the non - proliferation regime has failed to bring about nuclear disarmament also due to the simple reason that it neither has a time bound disarmament program nor has adequate political power (read military power) to punish and discipline the erring country in the interest of disarmament within a time bound period.

Therefore, instead of unnecessarily and unethically projecting itself to be a victim, India should immediately change its nuclear policy and start mobilizing not only so called nuclear power States, nuclear possessing States and nuclear capable States but also other countries of the world to constitute a new world body (other than IAEA, NSG, UN etc.) which will ensure (by persuasion if possible or by use of military power if necessary) not only nuclear disarmament and supervision of all civil and military nuclear capacities of the world with in a time bound period but also free and fair utilization of civilian nuclear energy by the entire mankind.
