Today everything is on EMI except your wife?

Central Chronicle had asked its readers:
Is the power of God Almighty not yet in full force in the world?
Following are the responses:

Bhupinder Kaur: God's power has always been in full force, is in full force and will remain in full force for ever in this world. We mortals cannot understand the way he uses his power. We expect him to utilize his power explicitly and immediately. The ways of God's justice are beyond the comprehension of us. It is very easy to wash our hands off our wrong deeds by blaming it on God.

We remember God only when we are in difficulty or helpless we never remember him when we create difficulties for others. God' power is in full force and we can feel it if we open our inner eye. Those who believe in the power of God need no proof, no logic is required and for those who question God's existence (unfortunately my husband is one of those) no proof is enough no logic convinces them. I reiterate that God is almighty and we should desist from raising questions on his powers and his existence.

Shivam: It's a natural tendency of human beings that they believe what they see but later on realize the hidden concept. It is the same with the power of God Almighty because of which we breathe every moment of our lives. Do we regularly realise the existence of nature that nurses our survival and makes this planet earth a beautiful place to live in? Friends, a slightest disturbance in its equilibrium can create havoc in our lives even if we are enriched with utmost wealth. Think what's this that is controlling every aspect of life of each living being thus giving ups and downs in everyone's life. It's nothing but the hidden power of Almighty existing in its full force but yet to be realised by human beings. Sooner we realize the faster we would be able to harness the hidden natural power of this world because it's what the Almighty wants from us.

SS Chitwadgi: God is as much imperceptible as His manifestation. Power of Almighty is omnipresent. Only few can decipher who have mustered the philosophy of God. One smells the fragrance but one can't perceive while one can't deny that there is an object exuding that fragrance. Likewise Almighty's force can't be denied while his full force occurs everywhere. The world is full of his mighty force without which Nature- His own creation would not have existed. Humans' survival depends on God's grace.

The question posed in the subject above deserves to be examined in the context "not yet". In fact the grace of God remained then remains now, and continues in future as well. The present days' extremes like climate change, food crisis, price rise and many more alike are all man-made and God has hardly any role. Man has brought all these miseries to himself due to high population living within the limited space and resources. It is, therefore, necessary to use human wisdom to make humans' life worth living.

Kuldeep Khare: Yes. The power of God Almighty is not yet in full force in the world, some corners are being left by the Almighty God.

There is too much poverty in many countries that people are hand-to-mouth for food. They even eat grass and leaves to survive. This is a misery. Many people are suffering from such diseases which have made them handicapped. They beg for death, but it can't happen. They are living with pain. By God's blessings these diseases would have been cured. Many children have lost their parents in early age and deprived of the love.

People who are living on the principles of truth are not being rewarded, but are pushed back in many fields of life. It has become difficult to walk through right path. On the other hand, the God Almighty is not punishing the people who are cheating other people (and even to God), indulging in scandals and using unfair means in life.

Shalini: Broadly speaking in today's world there is rampant selfishness and selflessness has almost vanished from most of humans hearts. Crimes have become heart of news, humanity has gone out of order to such an extent that criminals are moving freely and innocents are being punished. We can rely on the ultimate judge of the world ie the Almighty. But, either no justice is to be seen or it's coming so late that it has no importance. What we would then feel is that the power of our ultimate judge is not in His full force and the decline of this world has started. Sooner or later the humans will convert to animals and would even be hungry of each other's flesh until humans live harmoniously to restore the full force of God.

Sushmita Shrivastava: With injustice and corruption rampant in the world and the weak, honest and the poor people suffering everywhere, one is inclined to conclude that the power of the God Almighty is not yet in full force in the world. The modern world is materialistic and the people have scant regard for the nature. The God created the entire universe, including the earth. God had provided more than enough for all the creatures. But we destroyed the earth's resources so recklessly and shamelessly that all the creatures, including humans, are facing starvation. There is not enough food to eat, there is not enough water to drink, the air we breathe is polluted and there is not enough space to live. We have denied the animals the right to live. We kill them and destroy their habitats. We have destroyed the earth and all the resources available on the earth, which God had created for the use of all creatures. Now, the life has become like hell for all living beings and only humans are responsible for this situation. Only a handful of wicked and dishonest persons are enjoying life. Now, it remains to be seen whether the forces of Almighty will set the things in order and reduce the sufferings of innocent creatures and punish the wicked.

Rajat Abhinav: God is great. He is everywhere. Everything happening in this world is governed by God's will. I am writing this just because of God's grace. Had it not been so, we would have to create God.

Unlike human beings God does not show off His strength in blatant ways. Whenever God Almighty shows His power, there is no escaping route for the human race.

Whenever excesses have taken place, God sent His prophets to control the situation.

When demon King Rawana went out of his way, Lord Ram came to correct him. When Kauravs in Mahabharata committed atrocities on Pandavas, God sent Sri Krishna in human form and gave a lesson to the Kauravas and a message to the world.

Similarly, in today's world, God Almighty is running and has full control over everything.

The inhuman deeds committed by Talibans in Afghanistan and excesses perpetrated by Saddam Hussein in Iraq were corrected by God Almighty by choosing a medium in the form of America and other countries. The rest is history.

Though some may take this as a ploy of the US and other nations to conquer Afghanistan and Iraq for their own interest.

History is replete with God sending prophets whenever the situation warranted. Be it birth of Jesus Christ, prophet Mohammad, Bhagwan Buddha, Mahavir Swami, Gurunanak- all came in the world to free the people from their miseries.

From time to time God also gives message to the world in the form of natural calamities like tsunami happened in the Indian subcontinent a few years back and more recently earthquake in China.

We have to pause and ponder over it and we will realise that the power of God is still in full force in the world and it would remain for ever.

Ravi: Just recall the difficult days you faced in your life. When your tooth got rotten and it pained and pained till you ran to the dentist to get it removed. So the doctor is a small god too. Likewise when the judge delivers a decision in your favour and it is just, you thank the God Almighty. We do pray to God by nature (instinct) and He does answer us through the human beings.

Nobody has seen God Almighty but all are seeing his creations- the river, sea, hills, moon, galaxy.

Man is made in the similitude of God. God has given us minds to think, to judge between right and wrong. And not all the human beings have gone astray- to the path of lying or cheating, or killing. Even those who are caught stealing may realize their fault and agree not to repeat the same. Thus it is the right knowledge of God which helps man lead a better life and helps in obeying his laws.

The Ten Commandments may be taken as a guide for living and their principles applied to every situation in life.

As per the Holy Bible, there are also invisible elements in this cosmos which misguide us from right living; in Biblical terminology it is the devil, or satan. But, humans if they want to go their way of living, the satan cannot stop them.

God Almighty is working out a wonderful purpose here below. He is recreating Himself through human beings. God wants fullness, abundance in every life. Then why suffering, a common man may ask.

Answers to such questions, in a man's life, may come as the years go by, the amount of humility you have towards others, the way you love yourself and your neighbour.

Once the wily satan is removed from our earth by God Almighty (end of 6,000 years rule of man with Satan in command and this is nearing) there would not be anyone to deceive the human beings. Today if the UPA Govt is saying that the nuclear deal is in the nation's interest, there are other parties (they may be equally sincere) are of the view that the deal is not in the nation's interest!

Thus it is clear that God Almighty is keeping His hands off our affairs. He is only coming to those who seek His help.

A picture of tomorrow's world: No one will be deceived. All will know the truth. No more religious confusion. Eyes will be opened to the truth. Humans will become teachable. People will start living God's ways- the way of outgoing concern for others- the way of the true values- the way of peace, of happiness, of well-being, of joy.

May God give us enough wisdom and His understanding to lead a life which He desires of us.

Manisha Gupta: "Full" force...?? Well at times you feel it is not even in one millionth of the force! The way this world is going, working or deteriorating, one is forced to believe that the power of the Almighty is being countered heavily by negative forces bent upon destroying to the core, this beautiful, one of a kind, creation of God.

Nothing seems to be going the right way except wrong! From all kinds of crises to crimes to deteriorating climate patterns and hence greater global challenges, there's more to worry about than be happy. You really wonder what God is doing when you hear of the crimes rates soaring higher than the temperatures resulting from global warming. Why is it that the wrong doers are flourishing while the right ones suffer? Why did God have to take away untimely the likes of Mr.V.Venkateshwara Rao who was in fact going to return to his home country?

The only time you feel there's still God is when you hear of the baby who was flung out of the window to prevent it from burning, when a high-rise building was on fire in some foreign land, was caught safely by the firemen. Or when you read of the young executive in Gurgaon, who met with a serious accident on his last day to work, having a 5 ft. long iron angle piercing the upper half of his body, survive after this ordeal and a 6 hr surgery !

Only one wishes the power of The Almighty is the one that dominates the world!

Syed Zia Ul Hasan Naqvi: Vicious people are flourishing with their vicious deeds in this world. On the contrary righteous people are often facing difficulties in spite of doing good deeds in life. On account of this there is a misconception in some people, hence they remonstrate and say that the power of God Almighty is not yet in full force in the world. When we all admit and confirm God is omnipotent, omnipresent and omniscient and call him Almighty then saying like "The power of God Almighty is not yet in full force in the world" is absolutely wrong and totally based on our misconception. Such words for Almighty God are blasphemy.

It is true in this world there are malpractices like corruption, dishonesty and anarchy throughout but we should not think that God is not taking into account all these things. Every step of Almighty is very prudent and calculated God has shown us both paths i.e. right and wrong. For virtue he gives us rewards and for vice he gives us punishment. If the bad deeds are more he will send us to hell and in case if the good deeds exceed then heaven awaits us. So we should not be dejected seeing dishonesty and corruption because God is seeing everything and he is fully aware of everything. And finally after death there will be justice for every individual.

RK Gupta: The God, the supernatural power, omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent, is the creator and the only master of the entire universe. He is a great administrator who has His own laws. He does everything meticulously with perfect planning. One can understand His laws by learning natural science. All the natural phenomena have definite patterns and sequences and are guided by certain fixed laws. The sun, the moon, the water, the wind and the fire are the most merciful gifts of God Almighty. Actually our entire existence is the gift of God. However, these benevolent natural gifts are seldom realized by man due to his ego and selfishness.

Man remembers the God when he finds himself in trouble but when he is in comfort he forgets God and His kindness. God is a great democrat, He gives full freedom to everybody to do anything as per his wish. If man's actions are just he is rewarded accordingly, but if his deeds are wrong, he gets befitting punishment.

God is the supreme power and He has His own prerogatives. We, the mortal beings, have no right to question or challenge His authority and governance. But He is always merciful and kind towards everybody irrespective of one's faith and belief.

God is above all the mundane things and He communicates with His children with only language He knows that is Love. Love is the bridge between God and his devotee. The laws of grammar are not applicable to the God, He is father, mother, brother, sister and friend. He has no gender, he or she or it.

Man's sense organs have very little strength, he perceives only those things which are very near and close to him due to his shortsightedness and endless greed. Man fights with his fellow beings in the name of religion, language and the castes due to his utter ignorance and boundless desires.

Violence and lust has no place in the Kingdom of God . Service of man is service of the God. God is the creator and the destroyer as well.

Shakespeare had written rightly in his famous tragedy `King Lear'.

`As flies to wanton boys, are we to the Gods; They kill us for their sports'.

God does justice but it takes time. He watches everything good or bad but waits. The skeptics doubt about the might of the God. Not a single leaf can move without the will of God. He hears the earnest prayers of His devotees. But one must know that man proposes and God disposes.

God knows the needs of His devotees, His power is doubtedlessly in full force. One must pray, pray and pray to the God.

Robert Browning believed `God's in His heaven, All's right with the world'

Vivian Lobo: Plato defines man as, "a being in search of meaning." From the traces of history we come to know that man from the very outset of civilization was in search of truth; but he never reached it, for truth is 'one' as Sri Aurobindo posits, "Ekam Evam Advityam." and ie God. Be it philosophy, science or cosmology all the studies have in some or the other way surrendered in front of the Almighty God's power.

The ethos of the world is witness to the mysterious disasters and miracles which have occurred in the past. No scientific power or electronic gadget could prevent it; in such case who was behind this, it is the power of the God Almighty. Now, few may refute my statement and say it is the work of nature. Well to them I quote the principle of ancient philosophers of "The Unmoved Mover" which says, behind every movement there has to be a mover. Even the Steady State bondy Gold Hoyle theory proves it, that universe is formed by the centripetal movement of cosmic dust due to some unknown reason and that perhaps is God.

In the technocrat world of today, invention is at every second which compels man to be up to date and put on the armour of Nietizsche Superman notion. But have any of the billionaire and millionaire supermen found a remedy to be eternal; emphatically No! The self sufficient people of the west world are turning to the Ashramas of India, for they know their finiteness and need an infinite power. As William James postulates, "The sovereign care for worry is prayer."

At the very first blush of the Holy Books we come to know that God made us out of love, if love is still powerful then God should all the more be powerful; for love comes from Him. Ask a doctor who seeks the aid of God, ask a prisoner who survives with the sheer faith and ask an examinee who resorts to God during exam- all these explicate that God is powerful. As the book of Psalm says, "The universe proclaims the glory of God."

Let us not doubt our God, for if the work of god be comprehended by reason, it would no longer be wonderful, and faith would have no merit, if reason provided proof. Thus our God is Swyambhu- All powerful ever living God.

Dr Visal A Khan: One Indian poet writes `Banata hai mitata hai aur phir banata hai. Zaroor tairi Qudrat mai kuchh kamee hai jo bar bar banata hai aur bar bar `mitata haiâ' meaning thereby that the Almighty God repeatedly constructs an object and destroys it repeatedly to bring better and best superiority because God is lacking for good power in the initial construction.. If Almighty is supreme in power why he makes mistakes in the first construction?

But it is all mind of a man who forms such an opinion against God. It will indeed impress the careful observer how all things around us witness to an awesome, indeed a divine power. Whether we study zoology, astronomy, meteorology and any other scientific pursuit, it will become apparent that all creatures and all things have perfect episode, indeed an Almighty Creator is so much so powerful that none compete it. But it is especially towards the end of this philosophic course that we hear God himself taking the issue with Job, and through a series of questions about power and related matters, brings down Job, to where he belongs: to the dust, admiring the wonderful works of God. Regarding power of a man, although God has given all sort of powers to a man but he is lacking knowledge to use them. He does not want to study or to give strain to his mind and on the contrary blames God and his power. However much we investigate, to whatever extent we carry our search, we still have to say, "We know but little, especially when it comes to God's attributes, and particularly his ineffable power and might. So we must approach we reverence, and pray for a teachable spirit that we may properly respond to our Maker. It is he who "holds back the face of his throne, and spreads the clouds upon it. He hath compassed the waters with bounds, till the day and night come to an end" - a signal of divine strength. In brief Power of Almighty remained ever in full force and never slightest force decreased.

Sumit Dhanraj: Ages to come, no doubt to this question of rationale. Yes the power of God Almighty will remain in full force in the world. God is infinitely loving. God's power doesn't become stagnant or dormant but it flows and expresses itself as the opportune time comes for the manifestation of His might.

Whether it is Satya Yuga, Treta Yuga, Dwapara Yuga, or the present Kali Yuga the power of the Almighty is always made known to His faithful, devotees, or sinners. The Dasha Avatara of Lord Vishnu is the real and perfect example of the God's saving power and love towards the mankind. He comes to help His bhakta at the time of need, when there is too much sin (pap) in the world or when a devotee does tapas in order to seek Lord's favour. God always wants the good of His bhakta. Therefore, the Bhakti tradition of Hinduism along with the Vaisnavism brings the idea of God's coming back to bring order in the chaotic world where there is sin, maya- moha, greed, jealousy, lootings, killings etc. The Avatara comes with a purpose as mentioned in Bhagavad Gita, namely; protection of the good, destruction of the evil forces and the establishment of dharma or truth. He appears in various avatara but His essence remains the same. The very form of the divine majesty remains the same but the matter changes or goes through transformation so as to bless the devotees.

The incarnation of Christ Jesus is the manifestation of God's infinite love for the mankind who were fallen prey to sinfulness. In order to set people free from the clutches of sin God reveals His divine power and benevolent love by sending Jesus to the world to save the world out of sinfulness. Jesus being fully divine lived a life as fully human experiencing imperfections and still being real in His holiness. He was God almighty, human in everything except sin. He came into this world once for all.

Today, as we look at this world we will find that people are more selfish and complacent to fulfill their own needs rather than bothering about others and their wellbeing. Sin is increasing tremendously everywhere and man/woman are succumbing himself/herself to the shrewdness of egotistic mundane culture. If we have a look at family life people are cheating their own members, relationships are breaking due to less confidence, corruption is increasing because of bribe and greediness for money, looting is occurring in every job sector so on and so forth. Even the knowledgeable people are fallen short to ignorance because of the lust for more. The tendency to accommodate and possesses more makes us think of ourselves. We have forgotten about God, His eternal omnipresence, omniscience, omnipotence, power, majesty, and justice in the world.

His power is still at work when there is destruction in the world (prelaya). He makes His presence felt by perishable human beings, and makes them surrender to His will. Let us not forget about this mighty powerful God who is functional amidst us.

Jaskaran Singh Dhami: God's power? Has God really got any power? I don't think there is any God. Had there been a God, an 'almighty', 'omnipresent', 'omnipotent' power then it would have surely interfered when innocent children like Arushi are murdered? How can 'He' remain a mute spectator when small children fall victim to the lust of wolf like men? How can 'He' bear the exploitation of poor at the hands of powerful ones?

Can't 'He' use 'His' power (if 'He' has got any) when a bride is burned for not bringing in sufficient dowry? Why does not 'He' come to her rescue when she entreats 'Him' for help with henna coloured folded hands? Why does 'He' close his eyes when the life of a girl is terminated by her parents even before she takes birth? Her crime? She is a girl.

Why does God watch helplessly from 'His' balcony, I mean, heaven all the crimes in the world? If God had power 'He' would have used it to save people from tsunamis, earthquakes, and other natural calamities. People say God has created this world. Why did 'He' create it if 'He' could not manage it properly. There is one God. So no chances for some other power taking over the world and running it properly as happens in the case of business houses. There is one world. So no chances for merging it with another one to get the benefits of some one else's more efficient managerial skills.

'Godalisation' has become an obsolete concept. God should go for 'privatization'. Perhaps, 'He' has already done that. That's why it is men (powerful ones) who rule the world. It is their 'Hukum' that people have to follow. God (If 'He' is there somewhere) has become so indifferent that 'He' does not even bother to save his ardent devotees. Buses and trucks carrying them meet accidents on their way to holy places where they think (how credulously?) God resides. Some say 'He' resides in our hearts. How does 'He' manage there when that heart is broken? How 'He' manages there when hearts become cruel, corrupt and bereft of any human values? Does 'He' leave those hearts? Escapist God! I must say.

We cannot say that God's power is not 'YET' in full force. God had never had any power. It is people who make 'Him' powerful in their imagination and then seek the benefits of 'His' powers. They even credit 'Him' for their hard earned success. They say Ishwar ke ghar Dher hai Andher Nahin but I think it the other way round. God bless God!!

RK Kutty: Who can stand up when God Almighty uses His force fully in the world? First of all, ordinary mortals can only measure up powers and authority humanly. Whereas, God Almighty says ˜My thoughts are not yours, neither is mine views as yours(tm). The vastness of these is still immeasurable. God says it is as far and wide as the distance from earth unto the sky. No science could ever measure up this distance. Then, it is better for us, lowly mortals, to leave it as such.

The reason for putting up this question for an Open Forum debate is unclear. Still, it is assumed the question might have been asked looking at contemporary events turning from bad to worst, overtaking us on a day to day basis. People might be thinking that if God Almighty uses His full force in the world, such things would subside. That kind of thinking is only human. In fact, that too happened earlier. When God patiently waited for mankind to come to their senses, but when He saw that things turned worse, scripture shows God even grieved that He created mankind. The great deluge during Noah days are the aftermath of such use of full force by God. Similar was the situation during Patriarch Abraham's time as well. God heard of the deeds of the people of Sodom and Gomorrah. He could have acted but yet He wanted to verify it personally. When the Angels of God visited those cities, they saw on their own that what God heard was true. Despite Abraham's pleading to spare the city for the righteousness of at least ten people there, but, just because God remembered Abraham and his faith, only Abraham's nephew - Lot and family were spared before raining sulfur and brimstone to destroy it for ever. It is sheer grace of God; the world of today is spared of such kind of catastrophes. But, if situations developing in the world reaches such a pass, there is every possibility of total destruction or annihilation as above.

To know the real force of God Almighty, one has to read and understand the scriptures. The Book of Job is one which gives vivid accounts of it. This man - Job was righteous, pious and God fearing. God Himself certified his credentials. Yet, he had to pass through temptations that no human would imagine in his wild dreams. But, the truth of the story lies in its logical conclusion. Right through the moment Job was handed over to devil to tempt his faith, Job remained faithful all through, though his wife even mocked and suggested him to deny God and die rather than living such horrendous state of losing everything precious in life "health, wealth, power, happy family and positions. He quite eloquently argued or rather defended his innocence before his few close friends who, instead of consoling him, fired false accusations. Ultimately God talked to Job face to face. Read it from Chapters 38 to 41, wherein one can see the force of God's power.

And Job surrendered ˜I know that you can do all things, no plan of yours can be thwarted (Job 42:1). So, it is better to taste and know how good, though fearsome, is the God Almighty.
