Flag march by Army in Samba district

Agencies

Srinagar, July 5: A day after the Jammu and Kashmir government announced that it was revoking its order to transfer land to the Amarnath Shrine Board, there was no violence in the Kashmir Valley but the situation in Jammu is very different.

The Army staged a flag march in the Samba district and curfew was clamped in several areas of Jammu. This after the protests led by the BJP, Shiv Sena and Bajrang Dal activists intensified.

According to some reports, 50 people were injured, including 13 in a grenade attack by militants on a rally in Bhaderwah. The saffron brigade has called for a 72-hour bandh but their activists clashed with the police at Nagrota, Sambha and Lakhanpur.

Protestors were trying to stop supply of essential goods. The Jammu Srinagar national highway was blocked since morning, but now it has reopened.

On Tuesday, after the transfer of land was revoked 75 people were injured in the city and surrounding areas.
