Bhopal, July 5: Lots were drawn here today for aspirants of Haj-2008. The online draw of lots was undertaken by Haj Committee India, Mumbai and list of applicants released. The list of selected applicants can be seen on the notice boards at offices of collectors. The Haj pilgrims can also seek information on State Haj Committee's phone number 0755-2530139.

The function was presided over by Madhya Pradesh State Haj Committee chairman Saleem Qureshi while Shahr Qazi Abdul Lateef and state BJP president Narendra Singh Tomar were the special guests.

Speaking on the occasion, Qazi Abdul Lateef threw light on the importance of Haj while Tomar extended his well wishes to the Haj pilgrims. He appealed to them to pray for the country's peace and prosperity at the sacred Mecca and Medina.

Congratulating the successful applicants, Saleem Qureshi assured that efforts would be made for construction of Haj House and arrangement for direct Haj flights from Bhopal and Indore.

On this occasion, the Haj applicants witnessed the online process of draw of lots conducted at Central Haj Committee, Mumbai. The function began with recital of Quranic verses by Qari Maqbool Khan. Later, State Haj Committee secretary Ms Nusrat Mehdi present committee's report while its chairman Saleem Qureshi welcomed the guests.

Those present on the occasion included Additional Shahr Qazi Amirullah Khan, Nayab Qazi Syed Musthaq Ali Nadvi, State Haj Committee member SM Masood, Moin Ansari, public representatives and distinguished citizens.
