Khrist Premayalya Regional Philosophate is synonym of excellence in formative education for the aspirants of the catholic priesthood. Rev Dr Leo Cornelio, the archbishop of Bhopal, inaugurated the New Academic year here the other day.
The event began with the words of welcome by Rev Dr Fr Thomas Chacko, the Rector KPRP. The entrance procession from the Grotto of Our Lady to the seminary chapel was accompanied by the rhythmic dance of the seminarians. The celebration of the Holy Eucharist was presided over by His Grace and co-celebrated by Rev Dr Durai Raj, the provincial superior of SVD INC province and Rev Dr Thomas Chacko, the rector of KPRP Community along with the representatives from different communities, sisters and fathers of Asha Niketan campus.
It was a very meaningful and spiritually elevating celebration. The 'pravachan' of His Grace were thought provoking and encouraging for the young minds.
The tradition of this institute has been to begin the new academic year with 'lectio brevis' the inaugural lecture, which was delivered by Rev Dr Dominic Emmanuel on the topic, "Impact of modern communication on formation". It was an insightful and scholarly presentation that redefined the role of media in the formation programme. This inaugural function reached its culmination with the friendly inter-class football match; the first years were the winners.
