Youth rescued from bandits

By Our Staff Reporter

Bhopal, July 3: A youth, who was abducted by dacoits late on May 29 from a forest adjoining this district's Kaimra village, was freed in the wee hours today and four bandits caught.

''A tip-off was received about Rajasthan's dacoit Ramsahay Gurjar - who carries a reward of Rs 50,000 - and his gang members camping in the jungle,'' said Superintendent of Police Santosh Kumar Singh. A cordon was set up and Nitin Tiwari liberated.

Bank accountant Vishambhar Tiwari's son Nitin was abducted by ruffians Shera, Papiya and another on the pretext of taking him to a party. The trio handed Nitin to Gurjar.

''Heavy police pressure led to Nitin being freed sans payment of ransom,'' Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Rustam Singh said at the Tiwari residence while congratulating the district police.
