Kapil`s poster replaced by PCA stadium

Agencies

Chandigarh, June 28: Kapil Dev`s poster was replaced at its original place after "necessary repairs" by the Punjab Cricket Association at its stadium in Mohali.

PCA secretary MP Pandove said the torrential rains few weeks ago had damaged the poster, because of which it had to be sent for repairs.

"The poster was damaged because of rain and accompanying high velocity winds and this necessitated its removal for repairs," Pandove said.

The BCCI joint secretary also rubbished reports that PCA had removed it because of the World Cup winning captain had joined the Indian Cricket League.

"This is all a media concocted story. Let the critics who are raking up the issue tell me whether any stadium in Haryana, the state Kapil represented in the domestic league, has a similar mural or has a dressing room named after him like we have at PCA Stadium or have his memorabilia on display?" Pandove asked.

"Navjot Singh Sidhu, the best player to have come out of Punjab has no poster or his memorabilia here but nobody is pointing that out. It`s very unfortunate that so much negative had been written and said about this issue," he said.
