63% announcements made at panchayats fulilled

Bhopal, May 29: Speedy implementation of the directives and orders issued to fulfil the announcements made by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan at various panchayats called by him would be ensured at lower level by concerning departments. This was decided at a review meeting chaired by the Chief Minister here at Mantralaya. Chief Secretary RC Sahni, Secretary to the Chief Minister Iqbal Singh Bains and Principal Secretaries and Secretaries of concerning departments attended the meeting.

It was informed at the meeting that the Agriculture department has already issued orders for providing 30 percent subsidy on sprinklers, drip system and rain gun to farmers, maximum Rs. 24 thousand assistance to farmers of general category for tube well sinking and installation of hand pump. Similarly, orders for raising the grant for Balram Talab scheme from Rs. 50 thousand to Rs. 80 thousand have also been issued. Orders for providing 50 percent grant or maximum Rs. ten thousand to small and marginal farmers for diesel and power pumps for agriculture, horticulture and fisheries have also been issued.

The Chief Minister undertook a point wise review of the implementation of announcements pertaining to seven departments. Chouhan said that cent percent fulfilment of the announcements should be ensured. He directed to take action at the level of Finance Department, departmental minister and cabinet for early fulfilment of all the pending announcements.

The meeting was informed that a total of 338 announcements were made by the Chief Minister at 11 panchayats convened by him. Out of these, 214 announcements have already been fulfilled, which is 67 percent. The fulfilled announcements include the ones in which constant process is involved and the implementation of remaining announcements is in different phases of implementation. Remaining announcements would be fulfilled after sanction of the Finance Department and the cabinet. Directives were issued to fulfil the announcements pertaining to schools by July 1 next and remaining by August 15.

The meeting was further informed that 84 announcements pertaining to social justice, revenue, school education, panchayat and rural development, commerce and industries and sports and youth welfare departments are yet to be fulfilled. Besides, 40 announcements of other departments have not yet been fulfilled. Action on all these is in progress. Most of these 124 pending announcements require budget provision or financial sanction, administrative approval and cabinet approval and action is in progress at these levels.

It may be mentioned here that the first Mahila Panchayat was held on July 30,2006 and after this 11 panchayats have so far been organised. The Chief Minister invited suggestions from the people of concerning sections at these panchayats for solving their problems and make announcements on their basis.
