Bhopal,
May 29: Madhya Pradesh State Electricity Board employees are
going to announce a state-wide agitation on May 31 demanding
review of salary, that was pending for the last four years.
Madhya Pradesh Electricity Engineers Committee Regional Convenor
Vinay Pandey told reporters here today that as the officers
and other employees are enraged due to the non-approval of
their demands pending since April, a state-wide 'Dhyanakarshan
Karyakram' is underway from May 21 to May 31. In order to
draw the state government's attention gate meetings are going
on in all seven divisions of the state, he said.
Pandey said that it was quite unfortunate that Chhattisgarh
Electricity Board, which was separated from Madhya Pradesh,
has been providing 12.5 per cent interim relief to its employees
in December 2005 while their counterpart in this state were
still not receiving their benefits. He warned the state government
that if their demand was not accepted by May 31 then the agitation
would start from Jabalpur. ''Under this, power generation
will be paralysed and other programmes will also be organised,''
he added.
