Girls achieved a higher pass percentage of 86.12 as compared to boys' 77.93 pc in this year's Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education higher secondary exam results announced here today.
As many as 81 pc regular students passed. The pass percentage in government schools was 83.83 pc as compared to 78.16 pc in privately-run counterparts.
The number of regular students who appeared was 3,22,523. Of them 1,40,717 obtained first division, 1,09,939 second and 9,139 third.
Fifty-three figured in the merit list. In the science stream, the toppers were Satna's Prabhat Pande (429), Rewa's Prawesh Kumar Kushwah (423) and Sheopur Kalan's Keerti (422). In commerce, Bhopal's Nancy Navlakha (406), Balaghat's Raunak Ahuja (403) and Narsinghpur's Satyam Nema (401) were the toppers.
In art, Ujjain's Chandni Jain (398), Rewa's Kiran Chaturvedi (397) and Kuldeep Kumar Mishra (396) took the laurels. In agriculture, Rewa's Rajmani Jaiswal (412), Damoh's Arun Singh Alwa (401) and Rewa's Rajesh Prasad Jaiswal (401) were the toppers.
Other toppers were Pooja Malviya (335) -- Fine Art while Sidhi's Susheela Vishwakarma (401) and Burhanpur's Heena (386) took the top honours in Home Science. Even among 65,356 private candidates, the pass percentage was 58.99 per cent in favour of girls and 50.89 per cent in the case of boys.
The total number of exam centres was 2,145.
