Apropos
of CK Sardana's letter - Gross misuse of public money (CC
22/05). One must appreciate the point brought out by the writer,
though he quoted only a specific example. In fact, not only
the UPA stalwarts photographs and ads are appearing but almost
every political party ruling the states- be they the regional
parties, mainline BJP or its allies, BSP or others, they all
come out with full size photo features/ads propagating what
all they had done or are doing. Moreover, giant size hoardings,
depicting photo features of State leadership appear in every
nook and corner, the cost of which alone runs into several
lakhs. These too are wasteful expenses. It is to be found
whether the leaders gave specific permission for such hoardings,
if not why they desist taking action against anyone engaged
in such sycophancy. It is suggested not only the central leadership
but each State's leadership must chalk out a fool-proof policy
not to come up with such wasteful expenses that drains out
money from public exchequer.
