Crisis of safe drinking water: Observe precautions

Nautapa (nine days of scorching heat) has started to show its effect in the state. In such a tough time problem of drinking water is the greatest one. Some areas of Bhopal, Rewa, Sagar, Gwalior-Chambal and other divisions of the state are facing acute shortage of drinking water. Though it is not a new problem, the same situation was prevailing in earlier years too. But, its permanent solution was not sought. Human beings and animals both are facing same problem due to lack of drinking water. Wherever water is available in the state, is not clean and safe to drink. Even groundwater is becoming polluted. With the consumption of this polluted water people specially children are falling ill. It is also affecting the animals. Non-availability of water has created problems for the wild animals. Health is also related with drinking water. The government should not only arrange drinking water facilities but should also provide treatment facilities for the sick. All the departments would have to work together to seek solution of drinking water problem. Final responsibility is of government for safe drinking water and better health facilities. For immediate solution of this problem commitment is necessary, along with this permanent solution of this problem should be searched. Solid measures for water conservation should be implemented.
