Information about implementation of Scheduled Tribes and Other Traditional Forest Dwellers (Recognition to Forest Rights) Act 2006 and Rule 2008 was given at a daylong training workshop held at commissioner's office at Jabalpur. The workshop was told that is the duty of sub-division and district level committees to ensure that only really eligible forest dwellers get the benefit of provisions of the Act. Names of both husband and wife would be inscribed on the lease deed of forest land. The Patta would have a photograph of the lease holder and details of the land under his possession would be written on the Patta to be printed by computer.
Collectors, Chief Executive Officers of District Panchayats, members of district level committees and Forest Department officers of Jabalpur, Mandla, Dindori, Chhindwara, Seoni, Balaghat and Narsinghpur districts were present at the daylong training workshop organised by Tribal Welfare Department.
Training Director of Academy of Administration Vishram Sagar Sharma (Conservator of Forests and Senior Faculty) expressed his views on the process being adopted for implementation of Forest Rights Act and Rule and made the members aware of background and objectives of implementing the Act.
Divisional Commissioner Prabhat Parashar exhorted those present at the workshop to take initiative for implementation of the Act. Faculty member of Academy of Administration, Bhopal, and chief trainer Moti Singh underlined the background of Forest Rights Act and dwelt in detail about the process being adopted for implementing the Act. He also replied to the queries made by the members.
Additional Commissioner Tribal Regional Development Schemes Madhya Pradesh Bhopal, AK Upadhyay threw light on the process of implementation of the Act at various level as well as work done so far.
In the second phase of the training, JP Sharma, Principal Conservator of Forest (Land Records) Satpura Bhawan Bhopal gave details about the Act and Rule to the president and members of the district level committee. He also informed them about the technique of information and implementation of the Act. KVR Murthy, District Information Officer, District Information and Science Centre (NIC), Jabalpur informed the members about implementation of the Act with the help of web site and information technology.
