Promotion of self-help groups: To aid employment

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has announced to increase subsidy which is being given to self help groups in the state. Chouhan said that state government is going to reduce rate of interest on the amount given to self help groups, so that their income would increase. Chief Minister at Bandhavgarh in Umaria was addressing the self help groups during a public dedication programme. This announcement of Chouhan is commendable, because upliftment of women and poor becomes easier through the self-help groups. The women of the state have registered better progress in this direction. Financial prosperity could be brought among poor with their efforts. But they should be given proper aid from society and government. Chouhan also announced that decision would be taken to give benefit to the women self help groups in a meeting to be held on May 27 in Bhopal. Self help groups would be given maximum employment oriented works. This announcement is also commendable and welcome. In this connection it is necessary that the groups should be given help on every front. Self help groups should be encouraged. They should be provided raw materials for preparing their products. Better training is also necessary for qualitative products. All the departments should help the self help groups so that the benefit of group would reach up to members, families and up to equal financial income groups. The aware people of the society, officials and government teams should give encouragement to these groups. Now the people trying to establish themselves on their own would be benefited with the announcement of government.
