'Queen of Jhansi fought the British like men'

Bhopal, May 27: Bhopal is known for its beauty as well as culture, arts and craft. Bhopal is also known as 'City of Lakes and Hills'. Moreover, the city houses several cultural buildings where activities of culture and arts will be held regularly. Often the workshops exclusively for children are held at such Cultural Bhavans. Urdu workshop was held at Mulla Ramuzi Bhavan. Immediately after that Hindi workshop started for school children. The children will be asked to read poems of famous poets and write essays. They will also be given tips on personality development.

On the first day of Hindi workshop, the poems of Naresh Mehta, Subhadra Kumari Chouhan etc were read for them. One of the poems mention about the great story of Queen of Jhansi. To know what the children thought of the workshop, the Bhopal Today Team Reporter met some of the children.

What they say

Anuj Shukla, student of Class X, said that he came to know about the workshop through his neighbour. During the workshop we will be asked to read the great poems of great poets and the teachers will tell us about the hidden meaning of the poems. I read several poems and I feel happy I have joined the workshop.

Ankit Dwivedi was told that the participants would be asked to write essays also. 'We will also be told about our cultures. We had learnt the story of 'Jhansi Ki Rani'. Here we read the poem of Subhadra Kumari Chouhan on the heroine of Jhansi and it was very interesting and inspiring, he said.
