Pak parties raise hopes: Unity must for nation's progress

Even after the formation of a coalition government in Pakistan, there does not seem to be any end to the grievances of the parties involved. One of the issues pertains to reinstatement of the judges sacked by President Musharraf. Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz(PML-N) had called back its nine ministers from government and declared the party's support to the government from outside. Indications are that these suspended judges are to be reinstated. Pakistan People's Party (PPP) joint head Asif Ali Zardari of Ruling coalition government has made announcement to this effect. Earlier, Zardari was in favour of reinstating the suspended judges but later he turned hostile from his commitment. In retaliation, Nawaz Sharif had decided to keep away from the coalition government. Again Asif Ali Zardari has clarified that all the judges including Supreme Court Chief Justice Choudhary would be reinstated and form part of the 62 points constitutional reforms. PPP top leaders had deliberated for three hours on the constitutional reforms. The reforms would ensure supremacy of parliament and curtailing the powers of the President. It means this preparation is to kill two birds with one stone. By curtailing the power of the President Pervez Musharraf, a message would go to the public that Nawaz Sharif has good relations with Asif Ali Zardari and all decisions taken under the Mush regime were not right. The message that change is taking place in Pakistan would go to the world.
