Shabnam is 'Lambi Kumari', Mukesh 'Lambushri'

Bhopal, May 26: Bhopal is famous for organising different types of competitions. But the competition held at Boat Club was different and unique. The purpose of the competition was to select the smallest boy and girl and tallest man and woman living in the city and honour them. Bhopal Today Team talked to honoured personalities.

Shabnam, is 19 years old and her height is 5 feet 8 inches. She is studying in Class XII with commerce subject. 'I have no problem with my height. Often I become of people's attention due to my height. I feel awkward in such situations. But I am happy that God has created me a little different from others. When I came to know about this contest, I decided to take part as it was altogether different. Generally, such contests are very rare. I won the contest and I am happy about it', she said.

Zeenat Bi got the award for 'Chhoti Kumari'. She is 105 years old and her height is only 3 feet.

Special about her: Even at this age, her hair is black, not one hair turned gray. She had good and bad moments in her life. 'I have no complaint to God about my stature. I faced no difficulty due to my height. I still can do all my works without any problem', she said.

Mufid Hussain is winner of 'Chhotu Shri' award. His age is 70 years and height only three feet 8 inches. Working as a peon.'40 years ago the Principal of Government SV Polytechnic called me as 'Chhote Miyan'. Even today people call me so and very few know my real name. It is for God to make you small or big or normal. Others in my family are of normal height. I have two children. They have normal height. I have no problem with my height except that as my fingers are small, I find difficulty in writing. I thank members of the Boat Club to award me like this', he said.

Mukesh Richhariya, 36, Award: 'Lambushri'. Height 6 feet 4 inches. Profession: Contractor.

'I feel very happy to get such an award. It is the God who made me taller. I always felt happy when I find myself different from others in the crowd. I would like to thank the Boat Club members for organising such a unique contest. Such contests should be held frequently so that those who are different in the society should also come to limelight', he added.
