'Jobs for pocket money'

Bhopal Today Team

Bhopal, May 25: The summer vacations have started bringing a season of enjoyment and happiness for students. But there are some dedicated ones who do not want to while away their vacations in what they describe as absurd and useless activities. Rather they are bent upon doing some part time job so that they can earn money and lessen the burden of their parents who have to give them pocket money to sustain themselves.

IIHM student Himanshu Garg gets every month Rs 1500 for his pocket money. He spends Rs 300 on mobile, Rs 200 on hanging out with friends and Rs 600 to 700 on birthday gifts. At fag end of the month he has only Rs 200 to 300 left which he keeps it for saving. In such a way after two to three months he saves Rs 700 to 800 and this money is enough for new shoes, goggles or for dress.

Rahul Bhagwani says 'I don't smoke or drink but I get bored with daily hostel food and I spend most of my pocket money on Chinese cuisine because I am crazy for it. I also like to go visit boat club but avoid going there too often as I have to spend there Rs 200 to 250. I must say that I save Rs 400 to 500 at the end of the month and when I save a handsome amount, I think about a spending it.

Himkar Vatsa says 'what to speak about saving. On the contrary I spend more than my pocket money and sometime I have to borrow with my friends. I get Rs 2000 per month. Therefore, I have to manage for two movies, eating, outing, perfumes and many more within Rs 2000. I am unable to save and ask again for more money from parents.

Joyti says, 'I have credit and debit card and I spend as much as I want. Anytime I can go for shopping, food and hanging out with my friends. My parents trust me. I should not spend more than my needs. But even then I am unable to save.
