Chouhan hails K'taka victory

Bhopal, May 25: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has congratulated national leadership of Bharatiya Janata Party, election incharge Arun Jaitley and Chief Ministerial candidate B.S. Yediyurappa on the party's victory in Karnataka assembly elections. Chouhan has said that this decisive victory of BJP in South India is a win against dearness and UPA government's policy to appease terrorists and political opportunism of Congress and Janata Dal (S) in Karnataka.

In a statement, Chouhan has said that Bharatiya Janata Party's victory in Karnataka would force the critics to change their thinking that the BJP was only a party of northern India. He said that India of 21st century has refused to get divided into north and south and is putting into reality the concept of a united and undivided country. Now only that party would get a chance to serve Indian people which would be free of casteism, appeasement and criminilasation of politics and would work for development of India and people's welfare and progress.

Chouhan has also congratulated Karnataka Bharatiya Janata Party workers for their hard work. Chouhan has also expressed gratitude towards people of Karnataka for reposing faith in Bharatiya Janata Party.

CM bonanza to Umaria district

Bhopal, May 25: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan inaugurated and laid the foundation of construction and development works to the tune of Rs 80 crore at Amarpur village in Manpur Tahasil of Umaria district yesterday. On this occasion he distributed savings certificates worth Rs six thousand each to five girls under Ladli Laxmi Yojana apart from giving away cheques worth Rs 22 thousand each to three women beneficiaries under Mukhyamantri Mazdoor Suraksha Yojana. He also dedicated and laid foundation stones of construction of roads under Pradhanmantri Gram Sadak Yojana and several reservoirs under the schemes of Water Resources Department and performed the Bhoomi Pujan of seven sub-health centres. The Chief Minister announced opening of a college at Manpur and polytechnic college at Umaria. He also announced opening of three new hostels, improvement of four schools in Naurozabad and opening of middle schools at Raipur, Kathar, Jhalawar, Chilhari and Badchhad and a girls' higher secondary school at Samakuini. On the demand made by Minister of State Su Meena Singh, the Chief Minister announced improvement of middle schools at Belsara, Nigahri, Vilaspur and Bhundi and upgradation of high schools at Rahta and Jarha as higher secondary schools. He also informed that the family of Krishna Gupta, who died at the stadium here on May 22, have been provided ex-gratia grant to the tune of Rs 50 thousand.

The Chief Minister said that the state government has given top priority to farmers' interests. Special attention has been given to arrangement of water and power for irrigation. He said that every effort would be undertaken for early completion of Bhadar irrigation reservoir in this area. Its original cost is Rs six crore but even if Rs 12 to 15 crore is required, he would get this done. He said that numerous irrigation schemes are under construction in Umaria district. It would ensure ample supply of irrigation water and would lead to rise in the crop yield leading to their prosperity. He informed that the major dams, which were left incomplete during the previous government's term, have been completed by the present government. He called upon residents of Manpur to locate and identify places where large reservoirs can be constructed and the state government would get the survey done and provide budget for the same.

Addressing the public meeting, Chief Minister Chouhan dwelt in detail about important welfare schemes of the state government and exhorted the people living near these projects and schemes to take advantage of the schemes. Those present on the occasion included Minister of State for Panchayat and Rural Development Ms Meena Singh, MP of Shahdol parliamentary constituency Dalpat Singh Paraste, MLA Gyan Singh, collector Dr Madhu Khare, superintendent of police S.R. Yuvne and officers of all the departments.
