Schools would no more be devoid of teachers

Bhopal, May 25: It is going to be a thing of past in Madhya Pradesh that studies at a school might get disrupted midway through the academic session due to absence of teachers. Under the series to create a healthy and clean atmosphere in education section, the state government has decided that re-appointment would be given to those teachers who would retire in the mid-session so that they continue teaching for entire session. In this connection powers have been given at various levels as per categories of teachers. Even sanction of Finance Department would not be required in such cases.

All this exercise is being undertaken for teachers who retire right midway through the session in November. From the point of view of studies, rest of the months are most decisive since both half-yearly and annual examinations are conducted after that month. If the students come to knows that a teacher of is going to retire from service in these crucial months, they are bound to get disturbed. This is why the sensitive state government has come out with this decision to steer students out of this adverse situation.

The purpose of this decision is to ensure presence of those teachers in schools for entire session who are going to retire from service after November 1. It has been also decided that they would be given reappointment till April 30. With a view to making this process simple and easier, it has been decided that consent of Finance Department would not be required in such appointments. This has already been secured in January this year. In such circumstances there would not be any necessity for the Finance Department to seek endorsement of Accountant General.

As per the orders issued in this connection, reappointment order of assistant teachers would be given by District Education Officer. Such cases of headmasters and teachers would be disposed of by Joint Directors of Directorate of Public Instructions. So far as lecturers of higher secondary schools are concerned, they would be reappointed by Commissioner Public Instructions. The task of reappointing assistant professors and lecturers of colleges has been entrusted to State Education Research and Training Council while the orders of reappointment of college principals and professors would be issued by the state government.
