Bhopal, May 25: An under surveillance criminal, Laik Lakhera was murdered with sharp weapons last night in Central Library area of old city. The reason behind the murder was old enmity between the families. Deceased was notorious gambler of his area. Brothers in law of the deceased associated with their sons committed the crime.

All the four accused attacking subsequently with sharp weapons on Laik's neck and back murdered him. Mangalwara police on the complaint of deceased wife have registered a murder case.

According to police, Laik Lakhera(45), resident of Yasin Mahal, Peer gate was under surveillance criminal of Kotwali police station. Several serious cases are registered against him in the police station. Laik had gone to attend a marriage at his relative's house in Raisen with his wife Hasina Bee, son, Naved(13). His two relatives Ayub Miyan and Sayeed Miyan had also gone to attend the same marriage party with their families.

Ayub's in laws live in Yasin Mahal and he is brother-in-law of Laik Lakhere.

Ayub owns trucks which transport sand whereas Sayeed has farms in Karona. There were differences between Ayub and Laik on trivial issues for last few days. Last night Ayub's son Basit insisted Laik to visit their home for tea and took him at his residence at Central Library.

Sources said that as soon as Laik, his wife Haseena and son Naved entered into home Ayub, Sayeed and his two sons Anas and Basit attacked Laik with sharp weapon and ended his life. Laik received serious injuries at his neck and back. He died due to excess bleeding before admitting in a private hospital.

What was the dispute- Police told that the deceased Laik Lakhera was notorious gambler of old city and he used to conduct the illegal business of booking game from his residence. He was also conducting Anjuman(chit fund) from his residence. Wife of the accused, Shamim Bee and Sayeed's wife Nazneen Bee were also member of anjuman.

In this way they used to go Laik's house. Ayub and Sayeed did not like this. Sayeed had beaten up his wife badly on the same issue before three days. When the accused objected and complained to Laik then he said that they should control their wives.

Laik murdered before his wife and son- Police told that when Laik was murdered his wife Hasina Bee and son, Naved were present on the spot.

As soon as they entered into the room the accused did not give chance to save himself and attacked subsequently. As a result Laik received serious injuries. Seeing her husband serious Hasina Bee became unconscious whereas his son broke down.
