Bhopal, May 24: Cotton is a suitable fabric of all seasons. That is why India had the tradition of wearing cotton clothes. Artificial silk, nylon, synthetic fabric - all have dominated the market. Still, the interest of cotton continues. This is evident from the crowd every day at the Cotton Mela organised at the Bhopal Haat. There are several stalls displaying cosmetic items and make up items for girls and women. These items are also an attraction for the visitors.

Cotton clothes are liked by men and women alike. Whether it is men's dress or girls' clothes, cotton made items are preferred in summer. The reason is that cotton absorbs sweat very fast and the body is protected from the scorching heat.

Handlooms from all over the country, particularly from Bihar, UP, Himachal Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Punjab and Madhya Pradesh are exhibited at the Bhopal Haat. The items put on sale is so beautiful and eye catching that large number of people visit the Haat every day and buy the items they liked most. Because of their expertness in handloom weaving, more and more people are buying the cotton clothes every day. Girish Sharma, an officer in education department said that since the inception of Bhopal Haat, one or the other activities are going on here, particularly in summer. One after another Mela is being organised here. This cotton Mela is also for the benefit of the citizens as cotton clothes made from different states are exhibited here for sale. Today I also decided to visit the place with my friends. The Haat is very interesting. I will be glad if such Melas would be organised here frequently.
